BRIAN WALLIN
Praised for his “finely focused and well-mannered” voice (Dallas Morning News), Brian Wallin is a “gifted tenor... who [takes] the stage with flair and commitment” (Opera Today). In 2026, he will reprise Frederic in The Pirates of Penzance, a role he has performed with Salt Marsh Opera and Pacific Opera Project, and debut the role of The Defendant in Trial by Jury with Utah Festival Opera & Musical Theatre. He also joins Opera Montana in the New York preview performance and workshop of A River Runs Through It as Neal, and the New England Symphonic Ensemble as the tenor soloist for Mozart’s Coronation Mass and Missa Brevis in D Minor.

In recent seasons, Brian has debuted roles including Count Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Arizona Opera, Salt Marsh Opera), Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore (Annapolis Opera), Ralph Rackstraw in H.M.S. Pinafore (Opera Las Vegas, Pacific Opera Project), Younger Thompson in Glory Denied (Permian Basin Opera), and Tamino in Die Zauberflöte (Opéra de Montréal, Annapolis Opera). He created the roles of The Reporter in the world premiere of JFK with Fort Worth Opera and Abe Attell in The Fix with Minnesota Opera. He was also in the regional premiere of Independence Eve with Opera Birmingham and The Poe Project operas with Fort Worth Opera. During his time as a young artist with the Glimmerglass Festival, Brian performed as Count Almaviva in The Ghost of Versailles, later making his European debut in the role with the Opéra Royal de Versailles.

On the concert stage, Brian recently performed as the tenor soloist in Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli with The Rochester Symphony Orchestra and as the tenor soloist in Carmina Burana with the Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed in concert with the Minnesota Orchestra, Pacific Symphony, Shreveport Symphony Orchestra, and The Atlanta Ballet.

Brian was a Resident Artist with Fort Worth Opera from 2014-2016 and a Benensen Young Artist with Palm Beach Opera from 2017-2019. During his time with these programs, he covered multiple lead roles and performed as Gastone in La traviata, Spoletta in Tosca, and Remendado in Carmen. He has also been seen as a Young Artist with The Glimmerglass Festival and Opera Saratoga, and as an Ensemble Artist with Des Moines Metro Opera.

Brian earned his Master of Music from the Maryland Opera Studio and his Bachelor of Music in vocal performance from the University of Maryland.
